What We Believe

Our mission is “make more and better disciples of Jesus Christ.” We live out this commitment by inviting people to affirm that “Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior” and live that out by being loyal to “Jesus Christ through the ministry and mission of this church by their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.“  What that looks like shines through in our Core Values:

... make Passionate Worship a priority.

... live out Radical Hospitality.

... be engaged in an Intentional Faith Development process.

... engage in acts of Risk-Taking Mission and Service.

... joyfully commit to a life of Extravagant Generosity.

Each Christ follower gets to be involved in a lifelong process of growth in order to more fully love God and love others.

Passionate Worship means when I am not sick or out of town, I will do my best to connect with this local Body of Christ in worship. I will get to the pew, a chair, or the floor to be with folks gathered together in Jesus’ name! I will pray before I arrive; so that when worship begins, I am ready for whatever we get into together with God. I will remember that I am important to the Body of Christ, for when I am missing, others miss out on what I have to offer.

Radical Hospitality means I will welcome guests who make their way to our church building, but I will also extend the welcome to those beyond our four walls. The church is people sharing God’s love whenever and wherever the need arises. I will remember the church is not a club for members, but an outreach station for those in need.

Intentional Faith Development means I will be involved in at least one Small Group in God’s church where I can build relationships with people. Small Groups are the primary place where we receive and offer care to one another, discuss how to apply God’s Word to our lives, and pray for one another. I will also read some portion of the Bible and engage in an ongoing conversation with God through prayer every day.

Risk-Taking Mission and Service means I will be involved in at least one ministry (serving within the church) and one mission (outreach beyond the church into the world) that honors the way God has formed and SHAPEd (Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences) me for joyful service.

Extravagant Generosity means all that I am and all that I have belongs to God. He allows me the privilege of managing my time, talents, and treasure for His glory and my enjoyment. A great place to start is with the “tithe,” or 10% of my income to the local church. When I invest myself in His Kingdom, God will grow me in leaps and bounds.

God’s mercies are new every morning. Christ’s love for us is unconditional. God’s arms are spread open wide to receive our offering of a life dedicated to being a better disciples of Jesus Christ.

We believe that lost  people matter to God and that they ought to matter to the Church.

We believe...

… that the Church should be biblically-based while being culturally relevant.

… that excellence honors God and inspires people.

… that the Christian life is a journey, which includes the regular practice of spiritual habits.

… that life-changes best occur in "small community" settings with authentic and accountable relationships.

… that all Christians need to discover and use their Spiritual gifts.

… that all Christians are called to live out their faith in worship to God and in service to others.
