Weekly Programs
This school year, we are making some changes in our ministry programming to better reach students with the message of Christ and develop them as believers and leaders. Our programs all reflect our commitment to the Mission God has sent us on, to build a community of students in missions. We want to equip and challenge students to live out a vibrant and active faith that affects the lives of the people in their sphere of influence.
Sunday Morning
Sunday Worship 9:30 - 10:30am.
All students, parents and volunteers join us in the sanctuary for the contemporary worship service. Worship, pray and hear God’s Word preached. This is so important to being part of the
community of believers at First UMC Brandon.
Core Teams 11:00am – Noon.
Students and leaders come upstairs in the gym building for small groups. Each group is based on students’ ages to provide a group of peers for growth and accountability. This year we will begin using a new 6 year curriculum plan that will give students an understanding of scripture and how it relates to their lives. Parents who are interested in learning more about the Sunday morning curricula are welcome to make an appointment and visit with us in the office to see it first hand.
Sunday Evening
The Underground 7:00 - 9:00pm.
The Underground is a place to activate high school students for a life “on mission” in a high challenge atmosphere of worship, relationships and fun. The student band leads awesome worship, relevant messages and strange and fun competitions.
Special theme nights (i.e. Whipped Cream Night, Redneck Night etc.) are designed to give students a place to bring their unchurched friends for a great night of fun and truth. At each of the theme nights a student leader will share the basic gospel with the group and give opportunities for students to make first time or renewed commitments to Christ.
Tuesday Night
Youth Orchestra/Ensemble 7:00 - 8:30pm. Choir Room/Sanctuary.
Tuesday nights are exploding with this new option for our musically gifted students. The music ministry is sponsoring a new way for you to use your gifts to serve God as a singer or instrumentalist. We need brass, string, rhythm section players for this group. Goals include playing for the congregation at services and more. You want to be in on the ground floor of this new program!!

Wednesday Night
First Aid - Middle and High School Groups
In the middle of the week, students are worn out from school and life in general. First Aid is an opportunity for them to be refreshed before having to go back into their week. Senior high students come seeking a place of rest with God. They worship “in God’s lap” and pray together as a group. There is also a time to equip them with God’s word before they go back out into the world. The middle school group is more fun and interactive with scripture and actions. First Aid is their chance to get recharged and energized for the rest of the week.
6:00 - 6:30pm. Dinner with our church family in the gym.
6:45 - 7:30pm. Separate Middle and High School worship and studies.
Friday Night
The Pulse 6:30 - 8:30pm. Boys and Girls Club for hang time (really, you can play basketball or just hang out with friends), dinner (good food, too…pizza, hamburgers – all the stuff you like) oh, and the best reason we come together – to learn more about how our faith and our friendship with God doesn’t just “fit into our life” but how it IS our life.
If you’re in middle school we want you here! Here’s what you’ll need to bring: YOUR BIBLE, $3 for dinner and a friend if you’d like! If you need more information, call Michael McCrystal at 689-4161 or email michaelmccrystal@fumcbrandon.org
